Accomplishments
Year 2004;
-We finished Gemini, our foundation bitch, at 20 months old; as a special she garnered multiple BOS and BOB wins, and a G2 placement.
-We acquired Apollo, a cousin to Gemini, who started winning points and major reserves from the puppy classes.
-Intrigue Kennels is established with Gemini and Apollo as our foundation.
-We became members of RRCUS, our national breed club.
Year 2005;
-Gemini is ranked #5 nationally in bitch conformation in the first quarter.
-Gemini achieved her canine good citizen (CGC), her herding certificate (HIC), her JC and SC in lure coursing, champion points/placements with ASFA for lure coursing, and her therapy dog certification (TDI).
-Gemini produced 8 healthy, ridged puppies, sired by Beckett, in a miracle litter; 6 will do performance events, 4 maybe 5 will be in the rings in 2006.
-In Dec, Gemini geared up for her second litter, to be sired by Seger, and starts therapy work weekly.
-Apollo became a champion at age 16 months; he took Best of Breed for a bronze medallion at the RRCUS supported Old Dominion show his first time as a special. He also took 2 BOB wins from the classes.
-Apollo acquired his JC lure coursing, 2 SC legs, and points toward his field championship (FC). He also took back-to-back BOB wins on the field.
-Apollo made the cut in the Specialty pre-shows in large entries, and made the cut in regular classes at the National Specialty in GA. He also won his class in Sweeps, and was 1 of 2 males pulled for evaluation for Best in Sweeps in an entry of over 100 dogs. Thank you Judge Mike Szabo for this honor.
-Apollo received his HIC.
-We supported our first RRCUS entry at Winston-Salem, NC.
Year 2006;
-Calypso earned 12 points to her championship, and needs one major to finish. She earned WB at two RRCUS supported shows, and two Best In Sweeps wins. She earned her CGC and TDI at 12 months, and her RN at 14 months old. She is our first obedience titled dog. She also ran several puppy courses. She took two G1 placements in matches, and a Best Puppy in Match at just 6 months.
-Koda earned 4 points including a major (WD/BOW) at a RRCUS show and several RWD placements in limited showing. He also ran some puppy courses.
-Aladdin earned 9 points in limited showing, and lacks his majors to finish. He won WD/BOW at a RRCUS show as well. He earned his first JC leg. Gem's first litter shows great promise all the way around.
-Apollo became our first Dual Champion and first Field Champion. He finished in limited runs with back to back majors, BOB over specials, and a Best in Field along the way. He completed his CGC and TDI finally, and proved he could "survive" 3 minutes without his mommy in view...:-).....he also sired his first litter, bred to ZuZu. The pairing produced 9 show ridged pups, including 3 liver noses.
-Zuri came to us from Redskyes Ridgebacks in CO, and lives with Atticus (Gemini X Seger) in Cary, NC. She shows great promise both in temperament and type, and keeps Atticus worn out now!
-Gemini earned 2 legs to her RN, and produced two beautiful litters sired by Seger. She will now retire from motherhood to enjoy performance events. She also coursed more runs toward her MC title. We are hoping to finish 4 boys from the 8 pups produced by the Seger X Gemini pairing. Several will also be coursing.
-We supported our second RRCUS show at Winston-Salem, NC. We joined SHOT, a lure coursing club in SE VA.
